Angkas offers free rides to medical frontliners

Angkas has deployed 1,000 motorcycle riders to provide free transportation to medical frontliners in Metro Manila during the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

The ride-hailing company partnered with the National Task Force COVID-19 and Joint Task Force COVID Shield for this initiative.

The service will be available until August 18.

Ten hospitals, including the Philippine General Hospital, San Lazaro Hospital, and East Avenue Medical Center, are designated as pick-up points.

Angkas Chief Transport Advocate George I. Royeca stated that the aim is to ensure medical frontliners can return home safely after their shifts.

Lieutenant General Guillermo T. Eleazar of the PNP emphasized that this endeavor will prevent transportation issues from hindering healthcare workers.
