Andanar is acting presidential spokesperson

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has been appointed as the acting presidential spokesperson, succeeding Karlo Nograles.

Andanar's designation was announced through an advisory from Malacañang.

This appointment follows Karlo Nograles' recent appointment and oath-taking as the chairperson of the Civil Service Commission.

Andanar confirmed his appointment and stated that Undersecretary Kris Ablan will serve as his deputy spokesperson.

He mentioned that he will serve as spokesperson at the pleasure of the President and expressed it's an honor to serve President Duterte in his remaining days in office.

Andanar thanked Nograles for his effective role as former acting presidential spokesperson and co-chair of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

He added that Duterte has yet to appoint a new Cabinet Secretary.
