Alexa Mendoza wins Idol Kids Philippines despite illness

Alexa Mendoza was crowned the first champion of Idol Kids Philippines despite battling a cough and colds during the finale.

She secured a near-perfect score of 98.88% with her performances of "Ang Huling El Bimbo" and her original song "Maabot Ko."

As the champion, Alexa received an exclusive contract with Star Pop and over P1 million in cash prize.

Alexa expressed her intention to share her winnings with her classmates by providing them with school supplies.

Her parents consider Alexa a "miracle child" as she was born when her mother was 42 years old, and they plan to use the prize money for her education.
