Alex Eala trains with mentor Rafael Nadal in Spain

Filipino tennis prodigy Alex Eala trained with her mentor, Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, in Mallorca, Spain, a year after his last match.

Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, shared a video clip of their training session on social media, expressing his excitement about returning to the court.

Nadal, who last saw action in the Davis Cup quarterfinals last year, welcomed the chance to return to the court with Eala, stating he will be stronger next time.

The Rafa Nadal Academy noted the unique day, highlighting Eala's session with Nadal after his year-long hiatus.

Eala, currently ranked world No. 50, is a graduate of the Rafael Nadal Academy and is continuing her training in Spain after a breakthrough season.

Her breakthrough season included cracking the top 50, a semifinal run at the Miami Open, Grand Slam main draw entries, her first US Open win, and her first WTA title at the Guadalajara 125 Open.
