Alex Eala reaches new career-high World No. 54 ranking

Filipina tennis player Alex Eala has reached a new career-high ranking of World No. 54, moving up four spots.

This achievement follows strong performances during her recent Asian swing, including reaching the semifinals of the Jingshan Open and the quarterfinals of the Suzhou WTA 125.

Her campaign in the Jingshan Open ended in a three-set loss to New Zealand's Lulu Sun, and in the Suzhou Open, she fell short of the final four after a three-set loss to Switzerland's Viktorija Golubic.

Eala competed in the qualifying rounds of the Wuhan Open, losing to Japan's Moyuka Uchijima.

She is set to compete in the upcoming Japan Open in Osaka as a seeded player, aiming for her second professional title and a Top 50 ranking.

Her schedule also includes the Guangzhou Open and the Hong Kong Open.

Eala's impressive run also includes her maiden WTA title win at the Guadalajara 125 Open in Mexico, a Top-8 finish in the WTA250 Sao Paulo Open in Brazil, and a US Open milestone as the first Filipina winner in any Grand Slam main draw.
