Alas Pilipinas finishes fourth in VTV Cup 2025

Alas Pilipinas failed to secure a podium finish in the VTV Cup 2025 after a straight-sets loss to Chinese Taipei in the bronze medal match, settling for fourth place.

This defeat prevented the Philippine team from achieving back-to-back podium finishes, following their historic silver medal at the AVC Women's Nations Cup 2025.

The Nationals previously lost to defending champion Korabelka of Russia in the semifinals, ending their bid for a championship.

Despite a strong effort, particularly in the third set where they mounted a comeback led by Eya Laure, Alas Pilipinas ultimately fell short against Chinese Taipei with final set scores of 25-17, 26-24, 25-22.

Key player Brooke Van Sickle made impactful plays, but crucial errors and effective plays from the opposing team sealed the loss.

The team improved from a last-place finish last year when a young National University represented the country.

Alas wrapped up a gallant campaign, which saw them defeating both China's Sichuan Wuliangchun and Australia to finish second in the preliminaries.
