AirAsia Philippines will resume its Manila-Hong Kong flights on Sunday, December 5, with two flights weekly.
The airline's flight Z2 1264 departs NAIA T3 at 8:35 a.m. and arrives in Hong Kong at 10:55 a.m., with the return flight Z2 1265 leaving Hong Kong at 11:45 a.m. and landing in Manila at 2:00 p.m.
AirAsia spokesperson Steve Dailisan expressed confidence in passengers' safety practices and the airline's adherence to government guidelines.
He added that the resumption of flights signifies their commitment to serving business travelers and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) wanting to come home for the holidays.
All AirAsia aircraft are equipped with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters which kill up to 99.9 percent of viruses including COVID-19.
The airline believes passengers have developed a culture of safety after almost two years into the pandemic.
While Hong Kong has confirmed cases of the Omicron variant, the Philippine government is still deliberating on a potential ban on inbound flights from the territory.
Travelers arriving from Hong Kong, which is on the Yellow List, are required to present a negative swab test if vaccinated, or undergo facility-based quarantine if unvaccinated.
