AirAsia PH to get 20 new planes in 5 years

AirAsia Philippines is set to receive at least 20 new aircraft over the next five years as part of a wider group expansion.

The group is finalizing a major order of 150 jets, with an official announcement expected within two to three weeks.

Newer generation aircraft are expected to reduce operational costs by approximately 30%, including fuel burn.

In the Philippines, the fleet is planned to grow from 15 to 21 aircraft by 2025.

From 2026 onwards, AirAsia Philippines anticipates adding two to four jets annually, reaching the 20-plane addition by 2030.

This expansion is contingent on support from government, airport authorities, and the civil aviation authority.
