AFP rolls out military trucks, buses to ferry stranded health, emergency workers
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has deployed military trucks and buses to transport stranded health workers and other essential personnel during the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
The Philippine Army dispatched 18 trucks to provide free rides along specific routes, including between Mall of Asia in Pasay City and EDSA-Santolan in Quezon City, and between EDSA-Santolan and Masinag in Antipolo.
The AFP General Headquarters provided two buses and four trucks to ferry workers between Santolan-EDSA in Quezon City and Balintawak, Quezon City, and vice versa.
The Philippine Navy also sent M35 trucks to various locations to assist commuters.
These transportation services are conducted daily to ensure health workers and other authorized personnel can commute to and from their workplaces, as mass transport systems have been suspended.
