Brigadier General Edgard Arevalo, AFP spokesperson, announced on Sunday, April 5, that Santos' second test conducted by the Department of Health and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine yielded negative results.

Santos was first diagnosed with the virus on March 27 but remained asymptomatic throughout his infection.

He had been in quarantine at his residence in Camp Aguinaldo and his quarantine is set to end on April 10.

Santos initially tested positive after coming into contact with another senior military official who had the virus.

The AFP leadership expressed gratitude for the public's prayers and support for Santos and all military personnel.

Arevalo urged the public to continue cooperating with health protocols such as staying home, wearing masks, and practicing physical distancing.
