Adamson seeks repeat in SGVIL with young squad

Reigning champion Adamson University faces a challenging repeat bid in the 2025 Shakey's Girls Volleyball Invitational League (SGVIL), which begins May 28.

Head coach JP Yude acknowledges the difficulty of defending the title with a young team and the departure of last year's MVP Shaina Nitura.

The Lady Baby Falcons achieved a dominant six-game sweep without dropping a set in the previous season.

Adamson is placed in Pool A of the Division 1 competition, which includes 20 schools from various regions.

Their pool opponents are Lyceum of the Philippines University, Naga College Foundation, Emilio Aguinaldo College, and University of Perpetual Help.

Pool B features last year's runner-up Bacolod Tay Tung, Bethel Academy, De La Salle-Lipa, Chiang Kai Shek College, and Holy Rosary College.

Pool C consists of Kings' Montessori High School, Arellano University, Corpus Christi School, the inaugural champion California Academy, and De La Salle-Zobel A.
