Adamson Soaring Falcons upset UST Growling Tigers 69-59

The Adamson Soaring Falcons concluded the first round of the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament with a 69-59 upset victory over the UST Growling Tigers, ending UST's three-game winning streak.

AJ Fransman led the Falcons with a game-high 18 points, including three successful three-point shots and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Adamson established a significant lead in the second quarter, outscoring UST 22-9 to take a 38-25 halftime advantage.

Despite UST's efforts to close the gap, with the Tigers only getting as near as 55-50 early in the fourth quarter, Adamson's defense maintained control.

Adamson coach Nash Racela acknowledged that UST may have been tired from their previous games, but stated that his team took advantage of the situation.

The loss spoiled Nic Cabañero's 23-point performance for UST.

With the win, Adamson improved to a 3-4 record and sixth place, while UST ended their first-round campaign with a 5-2 standing, falling to solo second place.
