ACEN secures P15 billion loan from Metrobank for renewable energy projects

ACEN Corp., the energy arm of the Ayala Group, has secured a loan facility of up to P15 billion from Metrobank to finance its existing and new renewable energy projects, including solar and wind farms.

The loan agreements were approved at a special board meeting on December 12.

ACEN currently manages a renewable energy portfolio of 7.1 gigawatts across the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Laos, and the United States.

The company has earmarked more than P80 billion in capital expenditures for 2026 to fund large-scale projects such as the Palauig 2 solar project in Zambales, the Maharashtra Hybrid project in India, and solar capacity in Malaysia.

This recent loan follows another P2.6-billion loan ACEN and Citicore Solar Energy Corp. obtained from the Development Bank of the Philippines for a solar venture in Pampanga.
