Abarrientos' career-high 35 points powers Ginebra to Game 3 vs Converge

RJ Abarrientos scored a career-high 35 points, including a barrage of threes in the second half, to lead Barangay Ginebra to a 105-85 victory over Converge in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals, forcing a decisive Game 3.

He was exceptionally efficient, making six out of eight three-point attempts.

Coach Tim Cone urged Abarrientos to shoot more in the second quarter, a request the player heeded.

Japeth Aguilar contributed 16 points and six rebounds, while Scottie Thompson achieved a triple-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

For Converge, Justine Baltazar scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while rookie Juan Gomez de Liano was held to nine points.

The winner of the rubber match will face San Miguel Beer in the semifinals.
