Abadiano's mid-range brilliance forces UAAP finals Game 3

Gerry Abadiano's effective use of mid-range shots was instrumental in the UP Fighting Maroons' 66-63 victory over La Salle in Game 2 of the UAAP Season 88 finals, forcing a decisive Game 3.

Despite the modern basketball trend favoring three-pointers, Abadiano, a graduating player, demonstrated confidence in his mid-range game, scoring 17 points in total, with six crucial points coming from contested mid-range shots in the final minutes.

Abadiano's proficiency in mid-range shooting dates back to his high school days, and he attributes his current confidence to his extensive experience in UAAP playoff games.

He expressed that the team played with more hunger in Game 2 after their loss in Game 1 and that he personally did not want his final game to end without giving his best effort.

UP assistant coach Christian Luanzon described the team's play as "desperation" and anticipates a highly competitive Game 3, with both teams expected to give their all.
