9 Indonesian POGO workers surrender, seek repatriation

Nine Indonesian workers from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) have surrendered to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) in Pasay City, seeking expedited repatriation.

The workers admitted to being employed by POGOs involved in online betting and scamming activities.

While not reporting physical abuse, they claimed they did not receive full salaries if quotas were unmet, which PAOCC Executive Director Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz described as indicative of labor trafficking.

These nine individuals join 30 other Indonesians previously rescued from a POGO facility in Pasay.

The PAOCC will request the Bureau of Immigration to facilitate their immediate repatriation.
