84% of police force willing to be inoculated
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, announced that 84% of the 220,000-strong PNP force are willing to receive COVID-19 vaccines.
Eleazar stated that while some police personnel have vaccine preferences, they understand that availability dictates the brand they will receive.
He expressed his willingness to be the first PNP member to be vaccinated, noting that police personnel are part of the A4 priority group.
Currently, 13,000 PNP personnel, including non-uniformed personnel from the A1, A2, and A3 categories, have already been vaccinated.
Eleazar has ordered the deployment of members of the Medical Reserve Force to vaccination centers to help enforce safety protocols and administer vaccines.
