8 million Covaxin doses to arrive by May

Approximately eight million doses of Bharat Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine, Covaxin, are scheduled for delivery to the Philippines by the end of May, as announced by Philippine Ambassador to India Ramon Bagatsing Jr.

These doses were procured by Philippine local government units and the private sector, with a cost ranging from $15 to $20 per dose.

Covaxin has already received emergency use authorization from the Philippine Food and Drug Administration, with an evaluated efficacy rate of 92% to 95%.

Additionally, 30 million doses of the Novavax vaccine, manufactured by the Serum Institute of India and known as Covavax, are expected to be delivered later in the year, specifically in September, through an order placed by the Philippine government.
