8 Eastern Samar mayors back Robredo's presidential bid

Eight mayors from Eastern Samar have officially declared their support for Vice President Leni Robredo's presidential bid.

The endorsement came after the mayors attended the inauguration of the "Kakampink" headquarters in Borongan City.

Borongan City Mayor Dayan Agda stated the importance of choosing a leader who is ready to help, understands, and works for the betterment of the Philippines.

He also mentioned that the gathering demonstrated that "Estehanon stands on a different principle and cares about the future of future generations."

Notably, six of the endorsing mayors were elected under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) in 2019, a party aligned with President Duterte's daughter, Sara Duterte, as the vice presidential candidate.

Borongan Mayor Jose Ivan "Dayan" Agda mentioned that more Eastern Samar mayors and local legislators will be coming out to support Robredo this month.

Agda expressed hope seeing people from the grassroots and professionals shelling out their own money to support Robredo, calling it a rare occurrence where supporters are not bought.
