77 PH embassies offer online voting for OFWs

For the first time, 77 Philippine embassies and consulates globally will offer internet voting for the upcoming May national and local elections, aiming to simplify the process for over 1.2 million overseas Filipino voters.

Filipino voters abroad can now cast their ballots online using their mobile phones or personal computers through the Overseas Voting and Counting System (OVCS), with enrollment open until May 7.

As of April 1, 17,323 overseas voters have registered for this internet voting option.

In countries where internet voting is restricted, such as China, Turkey, Russia, Jordan, Iran, and Libya, Filipinos will still be able to vote in person or via mail.

The overall overseas voting period will run from April 13 to May 12.
