75,000 PA, PNP personnel qualify for local absentee voting

A total of 75,000 personnel from the Philippine Army (PA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) qualified for the local absentee voting which culminated on April 29.

Of this number, 34,570 personnel from the Philippine Army are participating in the absentee voting for national positions.

These qualified personnel are eligible to vote for president, vice president, senators, and party-list representatives.

The local absentee voting is for personnel who will be deployed for election duties on May 9.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. reminded troops of their dual role: to exercise their right to vote and to ensure a safe and peaceful election.

Brawner also emphasized the Army's non-partisan stance, directing troops to avoid engaging in political social media activities.
