73% of Senate employees vaccinated vs COVID-19

Senate President Vicente Sotto III announced that 73% of the Senate's employees have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The remaining 27% who are not yet vaccinated include some senators and are expected to be inoculated within the week or by the weekend.

As of April, the Senate had a total of 1,848 employees.

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri expressed hope that the Senate will accomplish more work during the deliberations of the 2022 national budget following the vaccination of most of its personnel.

The Senate employees have received Sinovac from China and Sputnik V from Russia.

As of mid-May, the Philippine government had administered over three million doses of COVID-19 vaccine nationwide.
