7 CIDG officers probed for P13.45M theft from POGO raid evidence

Seven Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) officers are under investigation for allegedly stealing P13.45 million from evidence seized during a raid on a POGO in Bataan in October 2024.

The missing funds were discovered on November 20, 2025, when authorities found that a portion of the P141.13 million cash seized had been replaced with fake bills.

Six of the officers who handled the evidence are accused of receiving a fraction of the missing money.

The CIDG Director stated that a pre-charge investigation was initiated against the six officers for administrative cases including grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.

Criminal complaints for qualified theft, malversation of public funds, opening of closed documents, falsification of public documents, and illegal possession or use of false treasury or bank notes have been filed against the six officers.
