6 medical frontliners in Bacolod get first Sinovac jabs in Western Visayas

Six medical front-liners in Bacolod City, comprising five doctors and a nurse, were the first in Western Visayas to receive Sinovac vaccines on Friday.

The ceremonial vaccination took place at the Bacolod Government Center, with city officials including Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran observing.

The initial doses were part of the 6,270 Sinovac vials that arrived earlier in the day, allocated by the Department of Health to two local hospitals.

Mayor Leonardia stated that Bacolod City will soon be liberated from COVID-19 and that the city has become part of history in the region's vaccination rollout.

He also expressed that there is no longer a reason for the public to doubt the Sinovac vaccine after medical professionals received their jabs.

Dr. Miguel Sarabia, one of the recipients, emphasized that vaccines are the most effective way to combat the pandemic and encouraged the public to get vaccinated to return to normalcy.
