58 party-list reps to back Speaker Romualdez

Fifty-eight out of 63 party-list representatives in the incoming 20th Congress have pledged their support for the leadership of Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin stated that these 58 lawmakers intend to join the Party-list Coalition Foundation Inc. (PCFI), which is part of the supermajority bloc backing Romualdez.

Garbin mentioned that they are still awaiting confirmation from the remaining party-list representatives, although those present during an orientation also indicated their support for the coalition.

The PCFI includes members from various political parties such as the Liberal Party, Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, Nacionalista Party, National Unity Party, Nationalist People's Coalition, and Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

Earlier, on June 26, House Assistant Majority Leader Ernesto Dionisio Jr. reported that 287 lawmakers in total had already expressed their support for Romualdez.
