4Ps beneficiaries to receive additional P200 monthly subsidy

Recipients of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) will receive an additional P200 monthly subsidy for one year, starting this month.

This unconditional cash transfer, totaling P33 billion, aims to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices and is expected to benefit 4.2 million households, comprising 12 million individuals.

The P200 subsidy is in addition to the existing 4Ps grants, which include health and nutrition grants, educational grants, and a rice subsidy.

President Rodrigo Duterte approved this additional financial assistance on Wednesday.

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar clarified that only 4Ps beneficiaries are set to receive the subsidy, stating, "it is what we can afford as of today" and "kung ano po iyong kaya lang ng kaban ng bayan ay iyon lang ang maibibigay natin" (we can only give what we can afford as we cannot borrow more).
