4 hurt in rifle grenade explosion in Maguindanao del Sur

Four individuals sustained injuries from a rifle grenade explosion in a residential compound in Barangay Mother Poblacion, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur on Thursday night.

The victims, identified as Ryan Obpon, Abdulazis Saludin, Nasrullah Unayan, and Jonalyn Mamay, suffered shrapnel wounds and are currently receiving medical attention.

The explosion, which occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m., also resulted in damage to a parked vehicle within the compound.

Authorities are investigating the incident, with initial findings suggesting the grenade was fired from a distance into the victims' residence.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, and Shariff Aguak Vice Mayor Hadji Oping Ampatuan has condemned the act, urging residents to stay vigilant and promising to work with security forces to apprehend the perpetrators.
