35,514 taxi and TNVS units allowed to resume ops in Metro Manila

More than 35,000 taxi and Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) units have been granted approval to resume operations in Metro Manila.

A total of 35,514 units are now allowed back on the road, comprising 16,701 taxis and 18,813 TNVS.

The resumption of these services is in line with Memorandum Circular (MC) 2020-018, which outlines the guidelines for operations during the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) period.

Approved taxi and TNVS units are prohibited from implementing fare hikes and are required to use cashless transactions for payments.

Operators and passengers are reminded to strictly adhere to safety protocols, including wearing face masks and gloves, regular disinfection of vehicles, and maintaining physical distancing.

Additionally, vehicles must have a non-permeable, transparent barrier installed, and passenger capacity must follow the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and the Department of Transportation.
