Monsoon, cyclones death toll at 34, only 2 confirmed

The death toll from the southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones has reached 34, with only two fatalities confirmed by the NDRRMC and 32 still under validation.

Of the 32 unconfirmed deaths, nine are from the National Capital Region, eight from Calabarzon, six from Western Visayas, three from the Negros Island Region, two each from Central Luzon and Northern Mindanao, and one each from Mimaropa and Davao Region.

The NDRRMC also reported 18 injuries, of which 11 are still being validated, and seven missing persons, of which three have been confirmed.

A total of 1,857,171 families, equivalent to 6,670,506 individuals nationwide, were affected by the inclement weather.

As of Tuesday morning, 33,694 families are receiving assistance inside 1,199 evacuation centers, while 21,299 families are being aided elsewhere.

Infrastructure damage is estimated at over P7.3 billion, and agricultural losses were previously reported at P1.6 billion.
