A total of 325 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have returned to the Philippines from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this week.
This group included 88 pregnant distressed overseas Filipinos who arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 on June 17.
This was the third flight from UAE this year chartered by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) through its Assistance To National Fund.
DFA Undersecretary Sarah Lou Arriola stated this arrival is a testament to the DFA's commitment to bringing OFWs home.
The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai continue to accept applications for future repatriations.
The previous chartered flight from the UAE on May 31, 2021, brought home 396 Filipinos.
The repatriates are undergoing mandatory facility-based quarantine and COVID-19 testing as per health protocols.
