3 gang members, 1 SAF operative killed in Sulu shootout

A shootout in Indanan, Sulu resulted in the deaths of three gang members and one Special Action Force (SAF) operative during an operation to serve a search warrant for illegal firearms.

The operation was conducted by the SAF and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, backed by soldiers from the Army's 100th Infantry Battalion.

SAF Corporal Albasir Lumalag was killed in the encounter, and syndicate leader Alnaid Sahiddan Daud was also among the fatalities.

Two other gang members were killed, but their identities have yet to be determined.

Patrolman Felix Ruado sustained injuries and was initially treated at the Sulu Integrated Provincial Health Office before being airlifted to Zamboanga City for further treatment.
