3 dead in separate shootings and ambush in Abra

Two individuals, a dentist and a teacher, were killed in separate shooting incidents in Bangued, Abra, on Wednesday.

A barangay captain also survived an ambush in the same area on Wednesday.

The attacks occurred less than 24 hours after a mayoral candidate's driver was killed.

Unidentified gunmen targeted Barangay Captain Dennis Billedo in an ambush as he was heading home.

Later that day, Dr. Francisco Beria Jr., a dentist, and Odilon Peria, a high school teacher, were fatally shot at a coffee shop.

Initial investigations suggest Peria was shot multiple times by an assailant wearing a helmet before fleeing.

Beria sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the left temple while seated at a separate table.

Authorities are currently investigating the incidents and have yet to determine a motive.
