PRO-10 arrests 29, seizes 28 firearms in gun ban operation

The Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) apprehended 29 individuals during a monthlong operation against election gun ban violators, confiscating 28 firearms.

The crackdown, which ran from January 12 to February 12, involved over 13,400 checkpoints and other law enforcement operations across the region.

Among those apprehended were three uniformed personnel and one security guard.

Checkpoints alone resulted in the arrest of eight individuals and the seizure of seven firearms, along with 81 rounds of ammunition.

Separate police operations led to the arrest of 21 other violators and the confiscation of 21 firearms and 148 rounds of ammunition.

PRO-10 Director Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman stated that the operation highlights their dedication to community safety and preventing illegal firearm possession.

He reiterated their steadfastness in upholding the integrity of the democratic process.
