Bacolod, Talisay LGUs provide aid to 2,500 families affected by floods

Local government units in Bacolod City and Talisay City have provided aid to about 2,500 families affected by overnight floods caused by heavy rains.

In Bacolod City, 441 families were reported displaced, with floods reaching about four feet deep in several barangays.

Mayor Greg Gasataya confirmed that relief assistance, including food packs, rice, blankets, mosquito nets, diapers, and hygiene kits, is being distributed to the evacuated families.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development has also continued its relief operations for the affected families.

In Talisay City, 2,130 families were displaced, and Mayor Rowena Lizares dispatched the city's mobile kitchen to evacuation centers.

The city's health office provided consultations and distributed doxycycline to prevent leptospirosis infections among residents.
