22 Navy personnel on BRP Quezon test positive for COVID-19

Twenty-two personnel of the Philippine Navy's BRP Quezon have tested positive for COVID-19.

The vessel was placed on lockdown on September 24, and the infected crew members were swabbed on September 25.

Most of the infected personnel are asymptomatic and are isolated at Naval Base Cavite.

One individual with cough and cold has been admitted to a quarantine facility at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Fleet Medical Unit of the Philippine Fleet is monitoring the affected crew members and coordinating their transfer to larger quarantine facilities.

The 25 crew members who tested negative will undergo a strict 14-day quarantine onboard the BRP Quezon.

The San Fernando City Health Office will facilitate re-swabbing of the quarantined crew within the week, and the vessel has already undergone misting and decontamination.
