21 PH gov't officials stranded in Israel arrive in PH
Twenty-one Filipino government officials, comprising local government officials and Department of Agriculture dairy industry specialists, have returned to Manila after being stranded in Israel due to escalating tensions.
The officials, who were in Israel for an agricultural technology training program, were evacuated to Jordan and subsequently flew to Dubai before arriving in the Philippines.
Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla welcomed the officials at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Among the evacuated officials were mayors, vice mayors, congressmen, and regional directors.
Philippine embassies in Tel Aviv and Amman, along with the Israeli and Jordanian governments, were instrumental in facilitating the safe return of the stranded individuals.
