DND chief says 21 of 29 mayors in Cagayan back Edca
Twenty-one out of 29 mayors in Cagayan province support the establishment of Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) sites in their area.
DND officer-in-charge Undersecretary Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that the majority of local chief executives in the province back the endeavor.

Galvez noted that the support from mayors shows appreciation for EDCA's role in enhancing national security and community development.
The Philippines recently identified four new EDCA locations: Naval Base Camilo Osias in Cagayan, Lal-lo Airport in Cagayan, Camp Melchor Dela Cruz in Isabela, and Balabac Island in Palawan.
These new sites are in addition to the five previously selected locations.
