2 Iloilo traffic enforcers relieved after viral video shows them overtaking on double solid yellow line

Two traffic enforcers in Western Visayas were relieved from duty after a viral video showed them overtaking on a double solid yellow line at a bridge in Jaro, Iloilo City.

The video, posted on Facebook, quickly drew criticism from netizens who pointed out the enforcers were violating the traffic rules they are sworn to uphold.

Some commenters suggested that the driver of the vehicle should also face consequences, such as a show-cause order or license revocation.

LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II confirmed on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, that the two enforcers have been temporarily relieved pending investigation, stating the video shows a clear lapse of judgment.

A double solid yellow line strictly prohibits overtaking and lane changing, often found on bridges and highways to prevent accidents.
