2 BIR security guards killed in Zamboanga Sibugay office

Two security guards, Dante Miro Jamie and Arkhadz Dawila Muharral, were found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) office in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay on Tuesday morning, November 4.

Officials stated that armed men barged into the office before dawn, shot the guards who were on duty, and then fled.

The suspects also took the storage disk of the office's security camera system, complicating the investigation.

While cabinets and drawers were found open, no other items were reported stolen from the BIR office.

Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta, director of the Police Regional Office 9, confirmed that local police and barangay leaders are cooperating to identify and prosecute the killers.
