17 PH areas face danger-level heat index on Thursday

Seventeen areas across the Philippines are expected to experience a danger-level heat index on Thursday, April 10, 2025, according to PAGASA.

Four of these areas—Dagupan City, Coron in Palawan, San Jose in Occidental Mindoro, and Virac in Catanduanes—could reach a scorching 43°C heat index.

Another thirteen locations are forecast to have a heat index of 42°C, including Isabela State University in Echague, Cubi Point in Subic Bay, and Panglao International Airport in Bohol.

PAGASA classifies heat indices between 42°C and 51°C as 'danger' level, posing risks of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Meanwhile, 57 areas may experience an 'extreme caution' heat index level, ranging from 33°C to 41°C.

Metro Manila is predicted to have an 'extreme caution' heat index, with NAIA Pasay City at 41°C and Science Garden, Quezon City at 39°C.
