15 kawani ng maintenance provider ng MRT3, nagpositibo sa COVID-19
Fifteen depot personnel of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) have tested positive for COVID-19.
All 15 infected workers belonged to the rail line's maintenance provider, Sumitomo-MHI-TESPI.
As a precautionary measure, the Philippine Coast Guard will conduct rapid antibody testing on all MRT-3 depot personnel on June 18.
Workers who test positive in the rapid test will undergo RT-PCR confirmatory testing and self-quarantine.
MRT-3 management is implementing depot-wide disinfection and additional health and safety protocols to limit interactions between personnel.
This situation follows a previous case on June 14 where one depot personnel tested positive, leading to 14 more confirmed cases among 32 identified contacts.
Contact tracing is ongoing for the 14 previously confirmed COVID-19 positive depot personnel.
Other measures include symptom screening, mandatory face masks, alternative work arrangements, regular disinfection, sanitation stations, and physical distancing.
