0.0017% of fully vaccinated Filipinos contract COVID-19

As of August 29, only 243 out of 13.8 million fully vaccinated Filipinos, or 0.0017%, have contracted COVID-19, according to FDA Director General Eric Domingo.

Domingo stated that this rate is very low and within global standards, emphasizing that the benefits of vaccination significantly outweigh the risks.

At least five fully vaccinated individuals have died from the virus, with these patients being either elderly or seriously ill.

Of those who received a vaccine, 60,703 people experienced adverse effects, with 2,083 reporting serious effects.

The AstraZeneca vaccine reported that one out of 200 recipients experienced adverse effects such as body pains or fever.

The Department of Health reported a record 22,820 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, bringing the total to 2.16 million.

The country's death toll from COVID-19 rose to 34,733, with 1,961,019 recoveries.
